"I used the SPE amplifier Expert 1K-FA for 2.5 days when operating at 1A0KM, in July 2007. This was on CW only, on several bands 80 to 10 metres. I was very impressed. It looks very professional. It operated exactly as expected and was especially good in QSK (full break-in) mode, even at 35wpm and at 220 QSOs per hour, over long periods. Congratulations to SPE. The watts per Kg ratio is very welcome to DXpeditioners: 1 KW for 20 Kg!

* Expert works with all makes = ICOM, Yaesu, Kenwood, or radios with band data outputs (older ICOM etc). Even the older radios with TTL output and no RS-232 (FT1000D, TS940 etc) are catered for. If your radio has no computer output of any kind (most valve equipment and early solid-state transceivers) the Expert will measure the frequency of the RF input signal and change bands automatically. Apart from the ACOM 2000A (nearly twice the price) nothing else comes anywhere near this amplifier.

So, for example, if you wished to use both a beam and vertical from 20-10m, you could switch them from the front panel, making antenna comparisons possible without additional switches. Unlike with the Yaesu Quadra and ICOM PW-1 solid-state amplifiers, you are not tied to the manufacturer's radio for fully automatic amplifier operation. The Expert 1K-FA is manufacturer-proof and future-proof!

Works very very well and EVERYTHING is FULL Auto. It' s very very easy to interface with my CI-V Icom HomeMade Interface. It' s a very good Amplifiers and the Rating is 5/5. Works very well also in 50Mhz. If you want a Full Auto Solid State Amplifier, You must Buy SPE Expert 1K-FA. (IW1QN) (Note - the "user interface" is a bit of an overstatement. You need one lead from the REMOTE socket on any ICOM radio with CI-V into the Expert CAT port.)

Just made a few hours of testing with a windom antenna, only available for the moment. Found Expert very good. Easy to start and handle. Big screen with lot of information. Impossible to overload then you will get a warning message and the PA will close down. Most impressing is that is so silent..... So overall an excellent Expert. (SM5ELV)

Just one word for it: The best there is !!!!!!! Glad to be the first :-) All other brands "A joke in comparison" (SM5IOT)
